CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT
Asheville Radiology Associates: Preparing Stakeholders for Imaging Clinical Decision Support
Asheville Radiology Associates (ARA) has produced a video which showcases how R-SCAN has brought together stakeholders around clinical decision support (CDS) within Mission Health.
Bryon Dickerson, MD, the ARA group president who also serves on the NCACR chapter executive committee, chair of the ACR Committee on Quality & Safety General, Small, Emergency and/or Rural Practice (GSER), and as a member of the ACR Commission on GSER, says that ACR's R-SCAN will help his group integrate clinical decision support with electronic medical records throughout the Mission Health System. Marc Westle, DO, FACP and senior vice-president of Mission Health System says that Dr. Dickerson's introduction of R-SCAN brings an excellent idea about how to educate physicians in advance when they are ordering an imaging test about how to order that imaging test. Through the leadership of ARA and their Mission Health colleagues, regional medical directors throughout Mission Health hospitals have engaged their medical staff to prepare them for embracing upcoming CDS legislation.
An article which provides more details about ARA championing CDS through R-SCAN can be viewed here.
