2023 NC ACR Scholars reflect on Hill Day and the Annual Meeting

The most interesting talk was listening to a panel of attending radiologists in different fields (teleradiology, academics, private practice, and locums) and the similarities and differences each practice affords. The conference opened my eyes to how much goes on outside of the reading room as it relates to the practice of radiology.

It was informative to learn how the ACR sets standards and practicing parameters that affect us all. I was glad to see how input from all members is considered and open debate is allowed to help resolve disagreements. It was great to see how our physician leaders our pushing our legislative branches to ensure patient safety and fair compensation.

NCRS Global Health Fellowship recipient trains colleagues in Malawi
The pathology was different and oftentimes more advanced than what I have seen throughout my training. My differential diagnoses included things I have rarely or never encountered in North Carolina such as schistosomiasis, tuberculosis and ergotism.
